Aberavon Rugby Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Sam Williams as Forwards Coach with immediate effect.
Sam returns to the Wizards after gaining valuable coaching experience in a variety of environments, bringing with him a developing reputation as one of the most promising young forwards coaches in the game. A former Aberavon player himself, Sam’s return to the Talbot Athletic is a significant boost as the club continues to build for the future.
Director of Rugby Jason Hyatt said:
“Sam is an outstanding coach. His understanding of the lineout is impressive and he has worked exceptionally hard to develop his coaching style within various environments. Sam was a great player for the Wizards and I’m positive he will be equally as successful as a Wizards coach.”
Sam joins Aberavon from Bridgend, who the club would like to thank for their cooperation and support in releasing him mid-season.
Sam Williams said:
“I’m really excited to be returning to Aberavon as Forwards Coach. After years playing for the club, stepping away to gain coaching experience was an important move, but I always hoped I’d come back. When Jason reached out, it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down. I’m very grateful to Bridgend for their support in releasing me mid-season, and I’m looking forward to getting back involved and settling into a great environment with an exciting group of young players.”
Everyone at the club warmly welcomes Sam back to Aberavon and looks forward to the impact he will have on the squad.
