Aberavon Rugby Club can confirm that Strength & Conditioning Coach Tom Jones will be leaving the club to pursue a new opportunity.
Tom has been an integral member of the Wizards’ performance team over the past five seasons, playing a key role in the physical development of the squad and supporting players throughout their journeys at Talbot Athletic Ground. His professionalism, commitment and passion for the club have left a lasting impact on both players and staff.
Reflecting on his time at Aberavon, Tom said:
“Aberavon has been my home for the past five years. It was my first job in rugby and, in that time, I’ve learnt so much, but more importantly I’ve made relationships and friendships that will last a lifetime. The Wizards is a very special place with a lot of special people – a unique, old-school club. I will cherish my time at the club for the rest of my days, will always be in the Wizards’ corner, and I wish the club every success going forward.”
Head Coach Chris Davies paid tribute to Tom’s contribution:
“Tom has been a huge part of this rugby club for a number of years and his influence has extended far beyond strength and conditioning. He has helped establish high standards, challenged players to improve every day and has been a trusted member of our coaching team throughout my time at the club. More importantly, Tom is an outstanding person whose character and commitment have earned the respect of everyone at Aberavon. While we’re naturally disappointed to see him leave, this is a fantastic opportunity for him and one he thoroughly deserves. On behalf of everyone at Aberavon RFC, I’d like to thank Tom for everything he has given to the club over the past five years and wish him every success in the next chapter of his career. He will always be welcome back at Talbot Athletic Ground.”
Everyone at Aberavon Rugby Club thanks Tom for his outstanding service and dedication over the past five seasons and wishes him and his family every success for the future.
